Object Relations Supervision Group

This is an on-going supervision group designed to help mental health professionals mediators, lawyers and other professionals deal with difficult patients/clients by offering newer in-depth concepts, approaches and techniques of contemporary psychoanalytic thinking. The purpose is to provide an overview integrating classical psychoanalysis, object relations, and self-psychology.

Participants will have an opportunity to familiarize themselves with the many valuable concepts abstracted from Freud, Klein, Winnicott, Fairbairn, Bion, Kohut, Grotstein as well as newer more contemporary approaches. Supervision groups are for six weeks.

• Participants will have an opportunity to apply these various approaches to their own clinical work through case presentations.
• Groups will meet Saturday mornings for six weeks, 8:30-9:45 a.m.; also Mondays, 6 -7:45 p.m.
• Requirements, must be licensed

Joan Jutta Lachkar, Ph. D., is a psychotherapist in private practice in Tarzana, California. She is the author of The Narcissistic/Borderline Couple: A Psychoanalytic Perspective on Marital Treatment (2nd Edition), The Many Faces of Abuse Treating the Emotional Abuse of the High-Functioning Women, The “V” Spot, How to Talk to a Narcissist, How to Talk to a Borderline and numerous publications on marital and political conflict. She is an affiliate member and instructor at the New Center for Psychoanalysis.
